Custom Packaging Questions, Answered Clearly

Practical answers for buyers comparing custom boxes, bags, samples, materials and delivery planning.

What is PACKAVELLE’s starting minimum order quantity?

PACKAVELLE’s starting MOQ is 200 pieces for a custom project. The applicable quantity is confirmed for each size, structure, artwork, material and finish because combining several versions can change production setup. Tell us how many designs and sizes you need, and whether you expect a repeat order. We will state the quantity basis in the written quotation so you can compare it accurately.

How do I compare custom packaging quotes from different suppliers?

Give every supplier the same brief: internal dimensions, product weight, quantity per version, material direction, print, finishes, insert, packing method, destination and required arrival date. Then compare tooling, samples, export cartons, freight and duties alongside unit price. Check whether dimensions are internal or external and whether boxes arrive flat or assembled. These details often explain large price differences between apparently similar quotes.

What information should I send for an accurate custom box quote?

Send the product’s length, width, height and filled weight; the desired internal box size if known; quantity per size and artwork; reference images; logo or artwork files; preferred material and finishes; insert requirements; delivery destination; and target arrival window. If you are unsure about the structure, describe how the package will be displayed, opened, shipped and stored. We can then discuss practical options before pricing.

Can PACKAVELLE customize dimensions, patterns and logos?

Yes. We accept requests for different packaging materials, custom dimensions, structures, printed patterns, logos, colors, handles, inserts and finishing combinations. You can specify a material or process beyond the examples shown in the catalog, or send a physical reference for discussion. Tell us the product weight, intended use and desired appearance so we can confirm a suitable construction and production method. The written specification and approved physical sample define the materials, fit, color and finish for your order.

How long do samples take?

A sample typically takes 2–3 days after the structure, dimensions, materials and usable artwork are confirmed. Complex inserts, special hardware, molded components or uncommon materials can require a separate schedule. Transit time is additional. Before sampling starts, confirm whether you need a plain structural sample, a digitally printed appearance sample or a production-representative sample, because each answers a different approval question. Unprinted structural samples are free; the buyer pays shipping. Printed samples are quoted separately because printing requires a project-specific setup.

How long does production take?

Production typically takes 7–15 days after the sample, artwork and written specification are approved. The exact schedule depends on quantity, construction, printing, finishes, accessories and material availability. Shipping time is quoted separately and varies by destination and service. If you have a launch date, work backward from the required delivery date and include time for sampling, revisions, production inspection, export handling and transit.

How can a small business reduce custom packaging risk at a low quantity?

Begin with product fit and one recognizable brand element instead of adding every finish at once. Compare a fully custom structure with a simpler box plus a printed sleeve, sticker, tissue or card. Calculate the landed cost per usable package, including tooling, samples, freight and storage. A 200-piece first order can be used to verify packing speed, customer response and real consumption before expanding sizes or seasonal artwork.

How should a custom mailer box be tested?

Pack the actual product with every insert and accessory, then check movement, closure and label placement. Define likely handling risks with your logistics provider or test laboratory and consider drops, compression, vibration, stacking and moisture exposure appropriate to the route. After testing, photograph the unopened exterior and inspect the box, insert and product. Record any scuffing, crushed corners, loose caps or movement before approving production.

Is every paper package recyclable?

No universal recycling claim should be assumed. A package may combine paperboard, coated wrap, ink, foil, film, magnets, ribbon, adhesive and foam or fabric inserts. Collection and processing rules also differ by market. Review the complete construction, identify parts that consumers must separate, and confirm the wording appropriate to the destination. Documentation for one paper component does not automatically describe the finished multi-material package.

Do your SGS reports certify every finished product?

No. The reports published on this website apply to the identified white paperboard samples and the test scopes stated in those documents. They do not automatically certify every finished box, bag, fabric, coating, ink, accessory or future order. Tell us the product use and destination market so the selected materials and available documentation can be reviewed. Additional testing may be discussed when the order requires a different scope.

Do website product images define the finished product?

Website product images provide customization references for structure, proportion, color and presentation. Photographs identified as production or facility images show physical work. The approved dieline, written specification and physical sample define the finished order, including materials, dimensions, color, accessories and performance. Ask us to confirm the status of any image you want to reference.

Can customers visit the factory?

Yes. Buyers may request an appointment in Longgang, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China to discuss materials, structures, sampling and production. Contact PACKAVELLE before arranging travel so the team, meeting time and exact location can be confirmed. Bring product samples, measurements and reference packaging when possible. A visit can support decision-making, but the final quotation, approved sample and written order specification remain the controlling project records.

How do I send a quote request?

Complete the website quotation form with your packaging style, approximate dimensions, quantity, material preference, printing, finishes and destination. It sends the details to [email protected]; if the email service is unavailable, the page offers a WhatsApp fallback. You may also email us directly or message WhatsApp at +86 138 5785 4761. Avoid sending passwords, card details or other unnecessary sensitive information.

What affects the landed cost of custom packaging?

The usable delivered cost can include structure and size, material, printing coverage, finishes, inserts, tooling, sample charges, order quantity, assembly, individual protection, export cartons, freight, duties, taxes and local handling. Large assembled rigid boxes may occupy more shipping volume than flat-packed alternatives. Ask suppliers to identify exclusions and calculate total cost against the quantity that will arrive usable, rather than comparing unit prices alone.
