Structure first
Material directions
These material directions are a starting point for discussion. You can request other materials or combinations, along with custom thickness, dimensions and construction. Product weight, packing method and intended use help determine the final specification.
Corrugated board
Fluted board for mailers and shipping-oriented structures. Flute direction, grade and packed weight affect compression and edge performance.
Kraft paper
A natural paper direction for bags, cartons and wraps. Its base tone changes printed color, so brand shades should be approved on the intended stock.
Specialty paper
Textured, colored or decorative wrap papers that create surface character without relying on heavy print coverage. Availability and lot variation are checked per order.
Paperboard inserts
Folded or layered paper components that separate products and can support paper-based presentation goals. Fit depends on product geometry and load.
Protective inserts
EVA, foam, molded pulp or other project-specific options considered when weight, fragility, surface protection or retention require them.
Fabrics and reusable bag materials
Specify the composition, fabric weight, texture, color, carrying load, handles and reinforcement you need. We can discuss material alternatives and printing methods for shopping, storage and presentation bags.
PU coverings and soft linings
Exterior coverings and soft interiors for watch, jewelry and organizer cases can be selected around appearance, touch and protection. Send the surface texture, lining, cushion and compartment requirements for your project.
Make detail intentional
Printing and finishing
Use each finish to support hierarchy, touch or opening experience. More finishes do not automatically create a more premium result.
Foil stamping
Applies metallic or pigmented foil with heat and pressure. Fine lines, large solids and textured papers require different artwork and sampling decisions.
Embossing and debossing
Raises or recesses selected artwork. Board thickness, depth, reverse-side appearance and alignment with print should be reviewed together.
Spot UV
Adds localized gloss or contrast. Registration tolerance and the relationship between coating, laminate and artwork affect the final edge.
Soft-touch lamination
Creates a low-gloss tactile surface. Dark colors should be checked for scuff visibility and handling marks on a production-representative sample.
CMYK and Pantone printing
CMYK suits process imagery; spot colors can support controlled brand shades. Substrate color and coating still influence the result.
Ribbon and hardware
Ribbons, magnets, handles and closures affect assembly, packing and recyclability. Their placement should be fixed before sampling.
Approval sequence
Move from reference to controlled specification.
- Confirm product dimensions, weight, quantity and destination.
- Select a structure and material direction that can support the packed product.
- Prepare artwork to the confirmed dieline and identify critical brand colors.
- Review a physical sample for fit, opening, surface and assembly.
- Approve the written specification before production begins.
About material documentation
Published test reports apply to the submitted samples and stated test scope. Ask which report corresponds to the material proposed for your order. Do not extend a result to inks, adhesives, inserts or the complete package unless those components are included in the relevant assessment.

Claims such as recyclable, recycled-content, compostable or food-contact suitable depend on the complete construction, local collection systems and destination-market requirements. Confirm the final components and supporting documents before printing a claim on the package.
